From Goodreads:
Willow has spent most of her life as her mother's sidekick in a popular Las Vegas hypnotism show. So when she and her mom move back to their sleepy southern hometown to start over, she thinks she's in for a life of quiet normalcy. Except that her new life turns out to be anything but, when she kinda sorta hypnotizes Quinton, the hottest guy on the football team, to fall madly, deeply, head over heels in love with her. But what started out as an innocent way to make her best friend, Max, jealous soon gets way out of hand, and Willow begins to wonder if the mind - and more importantly, the heart - is something you can really control.
My Review:
Crush Control is a light-hearted and hypnotic read that captivated me from page one. Jabaley has created a wonderful novel with relatable characters, crazy situations, and a love that is sure to warm hearts.
Willow is a clever, hilarious character that had me cracking up laughing with all of her schemes! I cannot believe the messes she got herself into with hypnosis. I found myself cringing in embarrassment for her during some of the more weird moments! I adored the relationship between her and Max. They are super close friends who each feel something more for one another, but it is hard for the other to see their hidden feelings. The Quinton situations throws roadblocks in the way of their future, but through crazy attempts to fix what has gone wrong, Willow manages to get past them.
There were so many laugh-out-loud scenes in Crush Control. There is one involving Quinton, Max, Willow, and Willow's mom that had me laughing and feeling embarrassed for Willow at the same time. Oompa, Willow's dog, causes more shocking and funny scenes that I reveled in. That dog sure has his quirks! Georgia is amazing! She is a great friend to Willow, and I loved all of her romance movie/tv show knowledge that adds to the hilarity of the book.
I absolutely fell in love with Crush Control and I cannot wait for more novels from Jabaley. If you haven't gotten yourself a copy of this one, you are sure missing out on some fun times, and a really sweet romance.
My Rating:
